The
Young Actors Workshop is an after-school theatre arts enrichment program of ParkDay
School in residence at the Community Campus.YAW is an intensive actor-training and theatre
production program for teens and young adults.It is open to the entire Bay Area community and serves students grades 6through 12.We do three
productions a year, and draw from a variety of sources, including classic and
contemporary texts; original adaptations; and new work.
This semester, we produced PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK, based on the
novel by Lady Joan Lindsay.We will hold
auditions in early February for our spring production.We also do a 5 week Summer Intensive.
YAW is an excellent opportunity for young
artists to work on a full-length, fully produced production with students of
all ages and from different schools.It
is open to students of all experience levels and is a place where actors are
given the freedom and support to grow.This spring, we will celebrate our 20th year of providing an
artistic home to young performing artists.
