FUNDRAISING AND EVENTS
Park
endeavors to keep its tuition as low as possible and fundraising
comprises 10% of the operating budget. We raise money in many ways.
This flyer provides a glimpse of our fundraising endeavors-what they
are, how they work, what they provide for the school.
Half the
money PDS raises each year is through the Annual Giving program. Annual
Giving enables families to make a tax-deductible contribution to the
school. A letter is sent to each family in the fall asking for a
specific financial donation. The school strives to reach 100%
participation each year because that encourages outsiders to contribute
to our school.
The other half of the money that must be raised
for the school year comes from various events like the Jon Carroll
series. We also have yearly events like the Read-a-thon when the kids
settle in with pillows and blankets to read for hourly pledges. And, we
have grand scale events that reach out to the community at large with
the Silent Auction and the Garden Tour.
You will find that Park
is a very special place, and that, over the years, it is through
fundraising that families and staff can come together to accomplish
something for the children. It is hard work to produce such major
events, but there is a great sense of community which comes from our
collective efforts. This may be the greatest benefit to the school.
