Contributions and income from fundraising events help sustain Park Day School's core educational programs as well as support special projects. Park Day School typically depends on contributions for 10-15% of its operating budget. Your voluntary support helps Park Day fulfill its most fundamental goal: helping children enjoy childhood and grow into caring and creative critical thinkers.

Annual Giving
Goal for 2009/2010: $225,000

Every year, parents, alumni, grandparents, past parents, staff and friends all help us close “the gap” between tuition and the actual cost of a Park Day School education.

Specifically, the Annual Fund helps the school:

continue to attract and retain outstanding faculty
ensure small class sizes with individual attention
offer an enriched curriculum
maintain a diverse student body
maintain and improve our campuses

Bequests and Planned Gifts
Recognizing Park Day School in estate planning benefits the school and can result in gift and estate tax savings to the individual. Some planned gifts provide lifetime income benefits to the donor. All bequests and planned gifts will help Park Day School provide a diverse group of students with a rich educational program for many years to come.

Fundraising Events
Events can raise funds and fun! Park’s signature event is Secret Gardens of the East Bay, a popular tour of private gardens in the East Bay held in late April. The Readathon is a day devoted to reading, while raising money pledged to students from neighbors, grandparents and friends. The Silent Auction caps the school year with an inclusive and spirited family evening. In addition to these major events, the year often includes public and school community events which raise fun and funds. Check the Calendar for dates and details.

Appreciated Securities & Stocks
Gifts of appreciated securities can be a tax-wise way to give. Gifts of stock allow donors to claim the fair market value of appreciated securities at the time the gift is made. For instructions on how your broker can transfer your stock, contact the Development Office for details.

Matching Gifts
If you participate in your company's matching gift program, your gift to the school could be doubled or tripled. Obtain a matching gift form from your company, complete it, and return it to the Development Office.
