Welcome to the Park Day School After School Activities Program page! This is the place to find the most up to date ASAP info throughout the year.
The ASAP mirrors our school day program, fostering a safe and nurturing community guided by respect for children as thinkers and explorers, writers and artists, and makers of change in the interest of equity and justice.
The AfterSchool Activities Program highlights:
• Confidence - Participation in one of our clubs or multi-week workshops, students will develop and practice skills in an area of interest for them. Workshops will end in a final project or performance to showcase the accomplishment of the students. We believe this will instill in them a sense of confidence to take on new challenges at school and in the world.
• Caring - The ASAP is an intentional community that focuses on supporting and uplifting one another. At the beginning of each day's program, we come together to share, to eat a healthy snack and to engage. The day teaching staff and the ASAP staff will work together to provide continuity to support a student's social and personal development.
• Creativity - Utilizing the rich artistic landscape of the Bay Area, students will be offered a line up of diverse and exciting workshops and clubs which will vary throughout the year. Students will be able to pursue their interests or discover new passions in a learning environment that encourages exploration and freedom of expression.
Please check back often. Artists, craftspeople, and teachers will be brought in for the trimester sessions. These classes are under the auspices of ASAP; additional fees do not apply.
In additionto a variety of activities and clubs run by the ASAP staff, we are delighted to offer the following "special" classes that are led by artists, teachers and specialist for the first trimester of the year:
Monday - Creative Writing
Tuesday - Choir and Drumming
Wednesday - Maker Wednesday
Thursday - Capoeira
Friday - Creative Writing
Our ASAP is more than just an after school program - it's a place where students kindergarten - 8th grade can come together to be safe, make friends, create new things, take on leadership opportunities, and most of all . . . . . HAVE FUN!
We're looking forward to a fabulous year in after school and to seeing you around!
