Board Advisory Committees
Board Advisory Committees are an operational arm of the Board. They operate under Board leadership (in coordination with corresponding administrative directors) and may include Board, Staff, parent/guardian, and broader community members. Advisory committees do not have intrinsic Board authority but may make recommendations for action to the full Board. The array of Board Advisory committees will evolve as school needs and awareness change. Currently, the Board is considering the best structural approach for addressing its mission-based commitments, in particular to diversity, equity, and environmental sustainability. During this process, the Board’s Governance Committee will hold responsibility for oversight and advancement of school goals related to these issues.

Board Teams
Board Teams are ad hoc groupings that reflect an issue of Board-level interest but allow for leadership and oversight to be held more broadly, for example, by staff or other parent/guardians. These teams convene, work, recruit on the same routine basis that we aim for with Board Advisory committees.
