PHILOSOPHY

Park Day School prepares students to be informed, courageous, and compassionate people who shape a more equitable and sustainable world.
                                                                                                                                                - from the Park Day School Mission Statement

Park Day School’s abiding commitment to social justice, which is so vital to progressive education, means that teachers focus on humanitarian goals and bring forward ways that students can engage in socially conscious activities throughout their learning. We teach students to have a balanced perspective and know the wonder and strength of their democratic society and their history. This approach culminates with students being able to recognize the injustices that occur in their society and to have an understanding of their own power to make change for the better.

Park Day teachers have passion for (social justice), and are afforded the professional development and training which exposes them to these themes and allows them time to fully implement a curriculum that is not easily, if at all, found in mainstream education.”
