Home Community Parent Education
Park Day provides educational opportunities and resources to support parents/guardians, and deepen the connections between school and home. The Stewardship Group and School Administration collaborate to create programming, and we welcome ideas, proposals and contributions of time to support our adult learning program.
Our families are often each other’s best resource. To facilitate family-to-family and parent-to-parent sharing, we host grade-level parent gatherings, socials, and informal coffees. Our parent association serves as facilitators of these important opportunities throughout the year, and events are planned during monthly Stewardship Group Meetings.
Park Day faculty and staff are experts in early childhood and middle grade education. Learning specialists and subject matter experts share Park Day’s educational philosophy through Back to School Night presentations, and through evening and morning seminars on various topics. School leaders hold parent meetings to explain the developmental stages and needs of our students.
Throughout the year, we host local and national experts on specialized areas of child development, parenting, and other topics in education. Each Park Day School family is encouraged to attend at least two parent education seminars that relate to issues of diversity, equity and inclusion. Our goal is to support parents in their learning in a way that complements student learning in the classroom.
